Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALEXANDER DAVID NOBESS April 23, 1919 - July 26, 2003 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of our Uncle Alex. Uncle was born and raised in St. Laurent, MB, until he joined the Army in 1941. He served overseas for four years, during which time he became a Prisoner of War. He suffered long and hard during this time of his life, and we pray that he is never forgotten, for what he endured for his country. He returned home in 1945, with an honourable discharge, and many medals, for his heroic duty in the Second World War. After returning home, he worked on the family farm in St. Laurent, until he moved to Winnipeg, where he resided, and worked for the remainder of his life. Although Uncle never married, he considered ALL his nieces and nephews his children. You never had to ask twice for anything from Uncle. In addition to his family, Uncle loved music, and on many occasions, sang his old Army songs, and played his fiddle. Many of us learned to jig by that fiddle. Uncle will be greatly missed, as he was the last of an entire generation of our family. Alex was the youngest of 10 children, born to David and Rose Nobess. Prayers will be said on Thursday, July 31, 2003 at 7:00 p.m., with funeral service on Friday, August 1 at 11:30 a.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. Pallbearers will be Claude Garton, Emil (Boxer) Nobess, Rick Nobess, Dennis Scherban, Robert and Preston Brown. MAY GOD BLESS YOU UNCLE THOMSON Funeral Chapels - 669 Broadway - 783-7211
